Prior to joining Janney in 2019, Mr. Gersack was Senior Managing Principal, Co-Head of Investment Banking and Partner at FIG Partners LLC, a premier investment banking and research firm specializing in community banks.
At FIG Partners, Mr. Gersack advised community banks on a full range of strategic options and served as a community bank board member. He has more than 30 years of experience in community banking.
Before joining FIG Partners, Mr. Gersack was a Board Member and Director of Bank Equity Sales and Trading at Howe Barnes Hoefer and Arnett where he was responsible for the trading and monitoring of over 500 small cap and micro cap bank equities and the firm’s bank equity trading inventory and served as the HBI’s primary contact for the firm’s largest institutional clients, assisting them with identifying investments and trading activity.
Prior to Howe Barnes Hoefer and Arnett, Mr. Gersack spent seven years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago working as a Supervisory Financial Analyst with the Supervision and Regulation Division on bank merger and acquisition proposals.
Mr. Gersack received a B.S. degree in Economics from Lawrence University and an M.B.A in Finance from DePaul University.
